Students through this activity get to know concepts such as resistance, levers, energy, wrench and fulcrum.

The main objective of this activity is to develop students’ skills to develop electrical circuits through the integration between several subjects such as science, mathematics, arts, engineering and technology. Students in this activity are divided into groups to work collaboratively and discuss their ideas. Through these groups, students need to use material and tools such as: scissors, wire, plastic wheels, straws, battery, fan, glue and follow the instructions to design a car and connect it to an electric circuit. Car movement can happen through controlling its direction to move either forward or backwards.

The main objective of this activity is to develop students’ knowledge in regards to concepts related to STEAM and education for sustainable development (ESD). Children at the kindergarten stage will learn about the sun and its importance to all living organisms and as a source of energy (science), its importance in projects and economic growth (EESD); children will learn how to pronounce correctly vocabulary in English, know about the 4 seasons (science) and how many they are (mathematics). Children in this activity are divided into groups to work collaboratively. Groups will draw, colour the four seasons using material from the environment surrounding them. They will also be using playdough (arts) in addition to carrying out an experiment to understand more about the importance of the sun.

The main objective of this activity is to develop students’ knowledge in regards to concepts related to STEAM and education for sustainable development (ESD). Children at the kindergarten stage will learn about bees, how they live, produce honey and wax (science), children will learn how to pronounce correctly vocabulary in English (English language), identify the shape of the hive and how this is associated with various geometrical shapes (mathematics). Children will also learn about how bees are collaborative with specific roles. This example then extends to how countries can become collaborative to develop concepts such as global citizenship. It also allows children to think about the economical return from projects such as apiaries (ESD). Children throughout the activity will be using material from the environment surrounding them. They will be designing masks and beehives in different geometrical shapes that can be assembled in differently, producing creative shapes.

The main objective of this activity is to identify the phases in the life cycle of a butterfly.
This activity requires the integration between different subjects. Children will learn the number of phases in the butterfly’s life cycle and count from 1-4 (mathematics). children will be able to distinguish the main morphological changes at each stage (science), phases of the life cycle of the butterfly will be presented using a powerpoint presentation (technology). Children will be painting butterflies cut out of foam (arts) and will be designing butterflies according to the well known shape of butterflies (engineering). These activities will be done using material from the environment surrounding them.

Activity title: How to create compounds
The main aim of this activity is for students to know the importance of chemical reactions in their everyday lives. The activity is done through student collaborative group work where roles and responsibilities are stated clearly. Students in their groups used material such as colours, cardboard boxes, scissors and satin to learn that elements when combined together can give different values and results. The materials for this activity could also be used for students to know how to distinguish between elements and compounds. As for subjects integrated in this activity, this was mainly among 4 subjects. For example, science and mathematics where the former was through concepts such as elements, compounds, while the latter was through drawing circles. Technology and engineering too were integrated to this activity as students designed different forms of combining elements. The main outcomes of this activity help students learn the importance of chemical reactions in their daily lives and to retain such information.

The main outcomes of this activity help students understand the connection between the different disciplines to learn and deduce the relationship between different liquids.

Activity title: Full moon
The main aim of this activity is for students to understand mathematical concepts such as angles and the relationship between angles in different shapes. The activity helps achieve this through learning the different Lunar phases and how this is connected to learning about calculating angles. To achieve this activity, students need to use material such as wood, colours and foam. Students need to work in groups to be able to cut the foam that represents the Lunar phases then assemble these on wooden surfaces implanting what they learnt from geometrical concepts. The main outcomes of this activity help students think creatively, work in groups and learn collaboratively.

The main aim of this activity is for students to learn about the different countries that represent the Arab world. The activity is meant to show that we are all one and that at the end we belong to one world without borders. Teaching strategies used in this activity are peer tutoring, discussions and collaborative work. Students will work in teams using coloured sand to be glued on a wooden board. Each group will have specific roles to play. The outcomes of the activity include integrating concepts related to global citizenship and achieving a sense of belonging to the Arab region despite the country and geographical border.

Students will be divided into groups where each group selects its healthy meal of the day and learns the names of meals and nutrients in English. The outcomes of the activity include integrating concepts related to global citizenship and following healthy guidelines. Students through this activity will learn concepts related to science and English too as students write short sentences and learn new vocabulary.

Students will be divided into groups as they design and build a solar oven. Within the 40 minutes activity, each group will be accountable for a 50 EGP budget to purchase material needed for the solar oven. Each group will present their design and discuss the main decisions taken during the design along with data collected from trying out the oven and measuring the temperature in a sunny location. Collectively the whole class will nominate the best design stating the scientific reasons behind such a decision.
